Most Interesting Things to Do in Atlanta this February—Including What to Do for Galentine’s and Valentine’s Day

It’s February, the shortest month, so I made sure these events really pack a punch. I was very selective. There are only 6 events included, so there’s plenty more that one can do in February in Atlanta, but these are the most interesting things I’ve found. (So far. If I missed something crucial, please let me know!)

And as always, most importantly, all these events are inside the perimeter. Is there fun stuff OTP? I don’t know. Probably. I live inside Atlanta for the culture, so that’s what I’m showcasing here. I’m not opposed to venturing out on occasion for something very special, but generally… I’m a stay round here.

That said, here are the most interesting things to do in Atlanta this February—including what to do for Galentine’s and Valentine’s Day 2026.

Into the Burrough at Alliance Theatre (Goizueta Stage for Youth & Families Stage)
January 31 – June 26

Image from Alliance Theatre

This 50-minute, family-friendly show builds on the mythology of the Beatrix Potter Peter Rabbit books. The characters live in the rabbit warren beneath Mr. McGregor’s garden, and in this play, they’re throwing a surprise party for Peter—despite the gardener’s terrible plans for the burrow.

This show has a long run, and it’s “best enjoyed” by ages 4-12… but I plan to take my 18-month-old, since she’s done pretty well at other family-friendly shows. Prices start at $20.

Duel Reality at the Alliance Theatre (Coca-Cola Stage)
February 5 – March 1

This acrobatic performance also takes place at the Alliance Theater, and even though it’s a partially simultaneous run, the visiting troupe 7 Fingers performs an epic based on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet on a different stage. It might be my pick for Valentine’s Day, tbh.

This show runs 80 minutes straight, no intermission, and it’s “best enjoyed by” ages 6 and up. There are 2:00 weekend matinees, but most performances begin at 7:30PM. Prices start at $25, but you can spend as much as you want on these tickets. (To be fair, I think all the seats have pretty good views, the way the theatre is set up.)

I’ve never seen a bad show at the Alliance—the production value alone is often off-the-charts, so that’s why they get two spots on the list of What to Do in Atlanta in February.

Bad Bunny Bowl at Urban Pie
Sunday, February 8, 6-10PM

I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t follow sports. I don’t even know which teams will play in the Super Bowl. But I always know who the halftime performer is. This year it’s Bad Bunny, and for some reason, his performance has been weaponized to the point that it’s embarrassing to be an American.

That said, the Working Families Party will be hosting The Bad Bunny Bowl, which is a series of free watch parties across the nation to offer a safe and fun opportunity to celebrate together. The Atlanta party is at Urban Pie, and the flyer offers free food and drink, swag give aways, and free flash tattoos. The tailgate starts at 12pm, and the event is FREE. Make sure you RSVP ASAP because it’s sure to hit capacity.

A Very Bloody Galentine Double Final Girl Feature at Monday Night Garage

Friday, February 13

This is the best idea for Galentine’s Day that I’ve seen in a long time: it’s a horror double feature with girl dinner and crafts. The movies are Jennifer’s Body and Carrie. Hard to beat that lineup. The Girl Dinner special (for additional purchase) includes martinis, a kale Caesar salad, and roasted potatoes. I don’t know what a “diamond art kit” is, but it sounds like I’m going to bedazzle something covered in fake blood, and I’m here for it. Admission is $25.24, plus craft kits, food, and booze at extra cost.

The Mirrored Pool at the Center for Puppetry Arts

February 13-22

This puppet show was inspired by Carl Sagan and the Voyager spacecraft that carries the Golden Record… and has transported it 15.7 billion miles from Earth. I’m not super clear on the plot of this adult show, but I’m excited for the craftsmanship alone. Musicians Lisa Kaplan and Matthew Duvall are co-founders of the Grammy-Award winning Eight Blackbird, and puppeteer Tom Lee is sure to deliver a true spectacle. Tickets vary based on membership status and day from $18.70 to $28.

The fifth installment of Puppetry NOW will feature an artist talk about Tom Lee’s construction process (which fuses traditional Asian puppetry with experimental techniques). It’ll also be the first look at the new exhibit in the World of Puppetry Museum, Child of Wood. That one’s on February 12, 6-9PM, just before The Mirrored Pool beings its run. It also includes a performance of sanbaso, a Japanese dance to purify performance space. This event is $20 for non-members (free for members), and it includes a discount to The Mirrored Pool.

Tiger Sun’s Volume 3, Goodfellas

January-?

I don’t need a fancy dinner for the sake of being fancy, and I don’t need exclusivity for the sake of being exclusive… but this restaurant has me very excited. Tiger Sun is open Saturdays and Sundays, they have two dining times (6:30 and 8:30PM), and they have only 18 seats. That’s because this restaurant lives on a refurbished vintage tour bus parked behind Muchacho in Reynoldstown.

If that’s not cool enough, their third theme (“volume”) is Goodfellas. I don’t know if y’all know this about me, but ever since I can remember, I wanted to be a gangster. No, that’s not true, but I love learning about the mob’s culture so much that I wrote a book about Stephanie St. Clair, Harlem’s Prohibition-Era Underground Racketeer, and I’ll be speaking about it later this month at the Mob Museum in Las Vegas. I may not want to be a gangster actually, but I do know that “in prison, dinner was always a big thing.” So I’m very excited to check this out.

Understandably, reservations tend to book up. They release at 10AM every other Tuesday. I’m not sure how long Volume 3 will stick around, but I can’t risk missing it. The menu is $95/person, and it appears to include 4 cocktails and 4 small plates.

Those are my top picks for most interesting things to do in Atlanta this February. If I missed something, let me know! And don’t forget to subscribe to the Wayward Curator so you can see new articles as soon as they publish!
